63rd Edition of Subroto Cup International Football Concludes at Bengaluru
Bengaluru, August 29. The 63rd edition of Subroto Cup International Football Tournament for Sub-Junior Boys (U-15) concluded on August 28, 2024 at ASC Bengaluru. The oldest and most prestigious inter school football tournament of the country, kick started with all its grandeur earlier this month on August 19, 2024 at Air Force Station Jalahalli with inaugural match.
During the tournament, the teams were divided into eight groups and a total of 71 matches were played from league stage to the final amongst 38 teams across various IAF and Army units in Bengaluru. The final match of the tournament was played between Meghalaya and Uttar Pradesh on 28 August 2024 at ASC Ground, Bengaluru. Meghalaya emerged as champion by defeating Uttar Pradesh by three goals. Abhishek Patel (UP) emerged as highest goal scorer in the tournament and was awarded with Best Player trophy.
Later, the Chief Guest of the event Air Mshl Nagesh Kapoor AVSM VM AOC-in-C Training Command addressed the players, and the organizing committee. In his closing address, the Chief Guest congratulated all the participants, also complimented the officials, and the organizing committee for successful conduct of the tournament and for upholding the spirit of sportsmanship.
