SSB a People Friendly Force; known for its remarkable intelligence work, says Home Minister
Lucknow. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is popular as a People Friendly Force and known for its remarkable intelligence work.
Mr Singh stated this while inaugurating the Administrative & Provisioning Complex of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Lucknow December 2.
He also appreciated SSB for its significant seizures with large number of apprehension this year. The Union Home Minister said that as a part of Government initiative to strengthen the mahila component in all Forces & other institutions, the Government has appointed Mrs Archana Ramasundaram as Director General SSB.
Speaking on this occasion SSB DG said the SSB is taking leading role to create awareness among border population and to implement various Government programmes for the welfare of the border population viz., Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti Padao Abhiyan, PMJDY, Skill development, Distribution of aids and appliances, Educational work for Border School Children, Construction of toilets in Girls School etc., for the welfare of border people.
