Dassault Aviation and the Indian Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship to set up a strategic partnership on skill development
New Delhi. Under the patronage of Prime Minister Narendra Modi a new Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has been created. Today, under the Chief Guest Smt.Nirmala Sitharaman, Finance Minister, on the occasion of the United Nation’s World Youth Skills Day, Dassault Aviation and the Indian Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship signed a Memorandum of Understanding to lay the foundations of a strategic partnership on skill development, in the presence of several Ministers.
This MOU formalizes the creation by Dassault Aviation together with the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSD&E) of a new vocational training program of “Aeronautical Structure and Equipment Fitter” under Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) project and its implementation.
Dassault Aviation is setting up the grounds for its national deployment in collaboration with several academic and vocational institutions through a stepwise approach.
In this frame, the initial implementation of this program at the Government Industrial Training Institute (GITI) in Nagpur – Maharashtra- will welcome its first students in August 2019.
In a further step towards the development of a sustainable ecosystem of skilled craftsmen to foster the outreach of the Defence Corridor approach and more widely of all Indian students keen of innovation, technology and aeronautics, Dassault Aviation is working on the implementation of the above program in cooperation with the MSD&E, in Tamil Nadu as well as other Indian region.
These projects aim at creating and nurturing a ‘best-in-class’ pool of Indian talents from the public education system, for the benefit of the entire aerospace industrial ecosystem in India toward self-reliance in the design, development and production of aeronautical equipment and platforms.
In order to fulfil this ambitious goal, Dassault Aviation had created the “Dassault Skill Academy” to be the cornerstone of Dassault Aviation’s committed support to the “Skill India” initiative.
This global training and education initiative will better serve the requirements of the global aerospace industry, ranging from design to production and in-service support & maintenance, in terms of highly qualified manpower, throughout the entire spectrum of educational levels from Vocational skills to Higher Education.
Dassault Aviation total dedication to these educational projects illustrates its proudness to be fully supporting India on its way to self-sufficiency in the aerospace sector and the people of India on their ambitious vision for the future.
