Annual Conference of Bombay Medical Congress held at INHS Asvini

Mumbai, March 28. The 77th Annual Conference of the Bombay Medical Congress was conducted from March 25 to 26 at INHS Asvini, Mumbai. It was inaugurated by Vice Adm Dinesh K Tripathi, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command. Surg Vice Adm Arti Sarin, Director General Medical Services (Navy) and other senior Service dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

The conference was well attended by several doctors of the Armed Forces and civilian fraternity including senior faculty, residents, interns and medical officers.

The highlight of the conference was the prestigious Western Naval Command Oration chaired by Vice Adm K Swaminathan, Chief of Staff, Western Naval Command and delivered by Lt Gen Arindam Chatterjee, Director General Medical Services (Army) on “Decision Making and Noise”.

The conference also featured the highly coveted Cameron-Pinto Oration by Surg Vice Adm Arti Sarin, Director General Medical Services (Navy) on “Communication is the Key to Healthcare Delivery”. The Menda-Salaskar Oration was delivered by Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd), Hon Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, on “Medical Education and Research Aligned to Public Health”. The schedule also accommodated other highly informative talks by eminent national and international speakers such as Padmashree Dr. Amit Maydeo, Dr. Bhavin Jankharia and Dr. Mohit Bhatt.

Additionally, the conference featured an oral paper session, an e-poster competition for post-graduate students, a contemporary debate among reputed medical faculty, and the intercollegiate undergraduate symposium.
