Veterans Interaction meet on ECHS at Command Hospital Air Force, Bangalore

Bengaluru. Regional Centre ECHS Bangalore conducted an Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) awareness programme for veterans and dependents at TG Jones Auditorium, Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore on July 31. The meet was part of the objective to disseminate latest policies, create awareness of the existing policies at ECHS for the benefit of ex-servicemen.

Addressing the veterans 170 ECHS beneficiaries, Director Regional Centre, Group Captain Manoj Krishna A Pillai welcomed the veterans. He also exhorted the veterans to exploit the multiple features made available on the ECHS mobile app towards enhancing ease of medical treatment and E-SeHAT tele consultation with online delivery of medicines. He urged the beneficiaries to keep themselves and their families regularly updated of the procedures and processes of availing medical treatment through ECHS.

This was followed by a lecture on cardiac related issues and their prevention by Wing Commander Rajeev Chauhan of Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore. A detailed briefing by Joint Director (Hospital Services), Group Captain Somdutta Basu Chaudhury of Regional Centre ECHS Bangalore on the medical treatment procedures and policies on medical claims of ECHS.

Certain common errors made by veterans while preferring medical reimbursement of claims were also covered. The session provided an effective platform for veterans to have a greater understanding of the ECHS and to dispel the doubts they had about their entitlements under the scheme. The concluding part of the meet was an open house for the veterans to clarify any doubts. The meet concluded with a high tea.
