Rear Admiral Ankur Sharma Assumes Charge as ASD (Mumbai)

Mumbai. Rear Admiral Ankur Sharma, NM, took charge as Admiral Superintendent (ASD), Naval Dockyard Mumbai on September 24, 2024 from Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar Goswami, AVSM, who has been appointed as Assistant Chief of Materiel (Dockyards and Refits) at Naval Headquarters, New Delhi.

Rear Admiral Ankur Sharma, an alumnus of the Naval College of Engineering, was commissioned into the Indian Navy in August 1989. During his 33 years of career, RAdm Ankur Sharma has accumulated rich experience in the fields of maintenance and R&D of maritime systems. His service in varied appointments onboard frontline warships, design agencies, and Naval Dockyards has earned him several accolades for meritorious performance, including the prestigious VK Jain Gold Medal. His present areas of interest include adapting futuristic technologies to the maritime domain and synergising commercial cutting-edge technologies to battlefield applications.

Before taking over the reins of Naval Dockyard Mumbai, the Flag officer was appointed Director General of the Weapons & Electronics Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE).
