Indian Air Force Celebrates 92nd Anniversary at Maintenance Command, Nagpur
Nagpur. The Indian Air Force marked its 92nd anniversary with a week-long celebration at Headquarters Maintenance Command, Nagpur. The festivities culminated with a grand hollow square parade on October 8, 2024, where Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg administered the oath to all personnel, reaffirming their commitment to serving the nation with honesty, integrity, and devotion.
The celebrations commenced on October 2, 2024 with a Swachhata campaign, where Air Warriors, Non-Combatants, and civilians participated in cleaning drives across the campus and surrounding areas.
On the occasion of the anniversary, Air Marshal Garg laid a wreath at the Shaurya Samarak, a memorial dedicated to the brave soldiers who have served the nation. The hollow square parade was a highlight of the celebrations, with messages from the President of India, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Defense Minister, Minister of State for Defence, Chief of Defense Staff and Chief of the Air Staff being read out. Meritorious personnel were recognized for their outstanding contributions with commendations from the Chief of the Air Staff and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief.
The AOC-in-C in his address expressed deep gratitude to the veterans for their valuable service to the nation and called for enhanced pace of indigenisation and efforts towards Aatmanirbharta to reduce dependence on foreign OEM.As the celebrations concluded, the Indian Air Force reaffirmed its commitment to serving the nation with unwavering dedication and a focus on technological advancements to maintain its position as a formidable force in the region.
