Agniveer Passing Out Parade of the Parachute Regiment

Bengaluru. On October 15, the fourth batch of Agniveers of the newly introduced Agnipath scheme, marched into the folds of India’s Parachute Regiment with great pride and customary élan. Despite the incessant rains, the Agniveers Passing Out Parade proceeded as planned. The unwavering spirit and determination of the participants who put forth a spectacular parade of unity and resilience personifies the truest essence of a special force soldier- Always prepared to accomplish the mission, regardless of the circumstances. The impressive parade consisting of 462 Agniveers marked the successful culmination of the intense 24 week recruit training period. The newly attested soldiers will proceed to designated Special Forces units for a further grueling period of probation and selection.

The parade was reviewed by Major General VT Mathew, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding, Headquarter Karnataka& Kerala Sub Area. The General Officer Commanding addressed the Agniveers and implored them to imbibe the ethos of “Imandari, Wafadari, Bahaduri”.  The General Officer complimented the soldiers on their impressive turnout and drill.  He also congratulated the proud parents and thanked them for their contribution to the nation.

The Parade was commanded by Agniveer Subrat Kumar Nanda from Odisha.  Among the award winners Agniveer Lokhande Siddhesh Santosh won the Gill Medal for Overall Best Recruit, Commandant’s Endurance Medal for Best in Endurance was won by Agniveer Shiva Tomar, Ghadge Medal for best in firing & weapon training was won by Agniveer MD Ziaur Rahman, Cheema Medal for Best Recruit in Physical Training was awarded to Agniveer Santosh Kashyap and Agniveer Subrat Kumar Nanda was awarded the Chhetri Medal for Best Recruit in Drill.
