WICCI Karnataka Defence Forces Council kicks off

Bengaluru, October 23. The Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) announced the appointment of Vandana Dogra, a Director at a leading software company as the State President of the Karnataka Defence Forces Council. Vandana currently leads the Diversity and Inclusion program in her company, that has made remarkable strides in supporting defence spouses and veterans. As a part of her role as WICCI State President of Karnataka Defence Forces Council, she has formed a dynamic team of several women leaders from various sectors of Karnataka, who are committed to advancing women’s entrepreneurship and leadership skills in the region.

WICCI Karnataka Defence Forces Council aims to promote networking and collaboration among members and women in the region, in order to enhance opportunity of growth, up skill women through various knowledge sharing sessions and webinars, and address specific challenges faced by women in defence, women veterans, and spouses of defence forces by providing recommendations to the government authorities. This council will be the catalyst for collaboration and growth among women from the defence, civil society, and various industries in Karnataka with the aim to empower women.

To kick off its initiatives, the council will host its first webinar on October 25, designed to guide young students and women who are looking at joining the defence forces. The webinar will provide valuable insights into the journey of women in the defence.

The speakers of the webinar are women veterans from the Defence – Wg Cdr Sharmishtha Joshi, Wg Cdr Suchindra Singh, Maj Jaya James, Lt Col Valentina Demello and Lt Col Bhavana MV.
