KNOW YOUR ARMY: An Event Aimed at Showcasing the Strength, Technological Prowess and Indigenous Capabilities of our Armed Forces

The Indian Army is hosting a ‘Know Your Army Mela’ at Bengaluru’s Manekshaw Parade Ground on January 11. The event, open to the public from 8 am to 4 pm with free entry, will feature interactive displays of Army equipment, adventure activities, cultural shows, and information booths, highlighting the lives and services of soldiers.
Bengaluru, January 10. The Indian Army has announced the “Know Your Army Mela 2025”, One-day event aimed at showcasing the strength, technological advancements and indigenous capabilities of the Armed Forces. The Bengaluru-headquartered Karnataka & Kerala Sub-Area is conducting the event as a build up to Army Day Parade 2025, which will be hosted in Pune on January 15, 2025.
The event will be held at Manekshaw Parade Ground between 8 am to 4 pm. The event is set to showcase the Indian Army’s commitment to fostering stronger connections with citizens while celebrating its transformative journey.
This initiative aims to bridge the gap between civilians and the armed forces by providing an experience into the Indian Army’s technological capabilities and operational readiness.
Visitors at the exhibition can see major equipment featuring advanced artillery guns, small arms and operational tools, complemented by detailed insights into their specifications and applications. Minor equipment stalls will showcase communication systems, engineering tools, and Nuclear, Biological and Chemical warfare suits, highlighting the army’s technological advancements.
They will also be able to enjoy thrilling displays, including paramotor gliding, tanks, daredevil motorcycle stunts, drone demonstrations, combat bridge-laying, and simulators for Army vehicles. Cultural programmes by Army soldiers, along with performances by Army dogs and horses, are also planned.
The mela will feature informative and interactive stalls offering medical assistance, details on recruitment opportunities, an Army placement cell, a veterans’ help desk, and food stalls.
The Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area, known for its role in operations during the Wayanad landslide, will showcase the Army’s capabilities, highlighting their disaster response expertise.
It is a matter of great pride that the ‘Know Your Army’, event is being organised, where the capabilities and innovations of our army can also be seen. One of the main objective of this exhibition is to bring the army closer to the public, especially to encourage the youth and motivate them to join the army.
“This one-of-a-kind event offers all citizens a unique opportunity to engage with the Indian Army, witness its technological prowess, and gain insights into its operational capabilities. The Mela aims to inspire and motivate young aspirants to join the armed forces while projecting a positive image of the Indian Army, said Major General V T Mathew, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding Karnataka & Kerala Sub Area, interacting with the Media.
There are also opportunities for visitors to have interactive experiences with the army and photo opportunities with military equipment. There would also be dedicated recruitment booths with detailed information about career opportunities in the armed forces, Major General Mathew, said .
During the event, there would be live performances by military bands, stories of valour and many more. “The ‘Know Your Army’ Mela 2025 is more than just an exhibition. It is a celebration of the Indian Army’s strength, discipline, and dedication to the nation. All citizens will have a chance to interact with Army personnel, see cutting-edge military equipment, and learn about the inspiring legacy of the Armed Forces,” Major General Mathew, said.
