Air Vice Marshal Rajat Mohan Vayu Sena Medal takes over the Command of Maritime Air Operations
Mumbai, December 6. Air Vice Marshal Rajat Mohan, Vayu Sena Medal (VM) took over the Command of HQ Maritime Air Operations wef December 1, 2022 as its new Air Officer Commanding. AVM Rajat Mohan VM was commissioned into the IAF on December 16, 1989 in the Fighter stream. He is an alumnus of The Doon School, Dehradun.
During his distinguished career, the Officer was posted to various Fighter Squadrons including a Maritime Sqn and has flown many different Fighter Aircraft and Helicopter. He has approximately 3000 hours of accident/ incident free flying. He is a graduate of Tactics and Combat Development & Establishment and was subsequently posted as Directing Staff there for four years. The officer has also commanded a frontline squadron. He has tenanted many staff appointments at Air Headquarters, Tri Services HQs and Command HQs. He commanded an Integrated Air Command and Control System Node and was the Air Officer Commanding of a Flying station in Rajasthan sector. The Officer has done Higher Command Course with the Indian Army at Mhow and also undergone the prestigious National Defence College at Bangladesh. He is a recipient of the Vayu Sena Medal for distinguished flying. He is married to Shalini and they have two sons, Tushar & Kartik.
