Bengaluru to Host Asia’s Biggest Air Show in February – 2025

Bengaluru: India is set to organise the 15th Edition of Asia’s biggest Airshow, Aero India-2025, in Bengaluru, from February 10-14 at Indian Air Force, Station, Yelahanka Air Base.

India’s Silicon City and Defence hub, Bengaluru has been hosting the event biennially since 1996.

Aero India is Organised by the Ministry of Defence in Collaboration with multiple Defence Agencies including the Department of Defence Productio, Indian Air Force (IAF), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Department of Space (DOS) and Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The Five-day event will witness the participation of leading Indian and foreign manufacturers, besides participation of delegates from friendly foreign countries.

In the event, the US and French Aviation giants-Boeing and Dassault Aviation- makers of the F-16/18 and Rafale jets, respectively, are competing for a multi-billion dollar fighter jet deals with the Indian Government, making Aero India a key platform for these negotiations.

AERO INDIA HIGHLIGHTS:

Bangalore: The Show will feature thrilling performances by IAF’s Sukhoi fighters, Suryakiran Display team and Sarang helicopter display teams among others. A teaser for Aero India-2025 has been released, building excitement for the upcoming event.

HAL, the manufacturer of Tejas fighter jets is aiming deals with developing nations from the Middle East, South-East Asia and South America.

In 2023, HAL had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with Response Plus Holdings, a UAE based Medical service provider, to export helicopter platforms for emergency services-marking a significant Milestone for India’s Aviation Industry, according to a report.

HIGHLIGHTS OF AERO INDIA-2023:

Aero India 2023, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, witnessed the participation of 809 exhibitors, of which 110 were foreign exhibitors and 699 Indian exhibitors.

The theme of Aero India-2023 was “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities”

Tejas Aircraft, which is a lightweight, highly agile and multi-role supersonic fighter was a major highlight of the 14th Edition (AERO INDIA-2023).

The 2023 edition had participation from major Aviation Industries of US, France, Russia, Israel, Europe that included Airbus, Boeing, Dassault Aviation, Lockheed Martin, Brahmos Aerospace, HC Robotics, SAAB, Safran, Rolls Royce among other majors.

In The 2023 Edition, for the first time ever, the US Airforce performed aerial show with its 5th generation fighter jet- Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II.
