CNS Visits Western Naval Command

Mumbai, June 16. Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Mrs Shashi Tripathi, President of the Navy Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA) paid an official visit to the Western Naval Command at Mumbai from June 15-16, 2024.

The CNS began the visit by paying homage to naval personnel who have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, at the ‘Gaurav Stambh’ memorial in Naval Dockyard, Mumbai.

On his arrival at the Command Headquarters, Admiral Tripathi was received by Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command and was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour. During interaction with the FOCINC West thereafter, the CNS discussed ongoing operations in WNC Area of Responsibility and took an overview of the operational readiness, administrative activities and infrastructure plans of the Command.

Later, the CNS interacted with officers, sailors and defence civilians of the Command and reiterated the Navy’s commitment to be combat ready, credible and cohesive force with a future- ready outlook. He also highlighted the Navy’s resolve to turn fully ‘Atmanirbhar’ by 2047. He urged all personnel to continue working assiduously and earnestly to execute these mandates.

Adm Tripathi also visited HQ Offshore Defence Advisory Group and HQ Coast Guard (Western Seaboard), where he was briefed on various operational matters.

Mrs Shashi Tripathi, interacted with Mrs Zarine Singh President NWWA (Western Region) and Group Coordinators of the association. She was briefed on various welfare initiatives and activities being undertaken by NWWA in the Command. Mrs Tripathi also took this opportunity to visit some of the facilities of NWWA at Mumbai.
