Equipment Depot, Air Force Station Bengaluru Observes 10th International Yoga Day

Bengaluru. The 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) was celebrated in Equipment Depot, Air Force Station Bengaluru on June 21. Air Commodore Manoj Kumar, Air Officer Commanding, Equipment Depot, Air Force Station Bengaluru and Mrs Abha Sharma, President, Air Force Families Welfare Association (Local) were the chief guests of the event.

The event started with a talk on importance and health benefits of practicing Yoga, its historical origin in ancient Indian philosophy and how it is the perfect way to ensure overall health and physical fitness. During the Yoga session, air warriors and their families performed various Yogic Kriyas followed by meditation exercises. Simple Yogic Kriyas were practiced which could be performed by people themselves at their home without supervision of Yoga Instructor. Session concluded with Sankalpa and Prayer.

In the concluding address, Air Commodore Manoj Kumar, Air Officer Commanding, Equipment Depot, Air Force Station Bengaluru elaborated the special role of yoga as panacea for all lifestyle related disorders and urged all personnel and their families to make yoga part of their daily routine.
