Equipment Depot, Bengaluru Drives Swachhata Mission in Kempapura, Bengaluru

Bengaluru, October 2. As part of its commitment to community welfare and environmental sustainability, the Equipment Depot, Air Force Station Bengaluru, successfully executed a comprehensive Swachhata (Cleanliness) campaign in Kempapura, a village it has adopted.

The campaign kicked off on October 1, 2024 with a public workshop at the Government Primary School, where residents were educated about the significance of cleanliness and proper sanitation practices. To foster awareness and engagement, the Depot organized poster-making and drawing/painting competitions for the students. Winners were rewarded and educational material was distributed to all the participants.

On October 2, 2024, coinciding with Swachhata Diwas, the Depot’s personnel led by Air Commodore Manoj Kumar, the Air Officer Commanding, undertook a massive cleaning drive at Bellandur Lake. Their tireless efforts resulted in a significant aesthetic transformation of the lake.

The campaign culminated with a Swachhata Pledge administered by the AOC to all Depot personnel. This solemn declaration reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

The Equipment Depot’s initiative not only contributed to the overall cleanliness of the region but also served as a powerful example of corporate social responsibility and community engagement.
