Ex-Servicemen Rally at Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre, Belagavi
Event Addresses Veterans' Grievances and Honours War Heroes
Belagavi, December 16. A grand Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally was held on December 15, 2024 at the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre in Belagavi, Karnataka. The event aimed to resolve grievances related to pensions, banking, and documentation for ex-servicemen and their families, providing a one-stop solution with representatives from various government and financial bodies.
The rally, attended by 1,485 veterans and Veer Naris from Belagavi District and nearby Maharashtra, was presided over by Brigadier Joydip Mukherjee, Station Commander and Commandant of the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre. The event offered dedicated counters for pension-related queries, medical check-ups, and facilities such as ECHS, DLC, SPARSH, AADHAAR, and PAN card services.
A medical camp was also organized with support from the Cantonment Board Hospital, Military Hospital, and other health units. Free medical care was provided to Veer Naris, ex-servicemen, and war-disabled soldiers.
In a special ceremony, Brigadier Mukherjee felicitated 30 Veer Naris and five war-disabled soldiers for their service and sacrifices. The war-disabled soldiers were also presented with life-supporting equipment and financial assistance by Hero Motors and the War Wounded Federation.
