Foundation Stone laid for Indian Coast Guard Jetty at Kochi
Kochi. The foundation stone for the construction of a Coast Guard jetty at Kochi was laid by Director General Rajendra Singh PTM, TM, Director General of Indian Coast Guard (DGCG) in a ceremony held at Mattanchery , Kochi on 10 Jan 17 which was attended by civil and military dignitaries.
The project involves construction of a 220×15 meters long jetty which will be undertaken through Cochin Port Trust (CPT) as a turnkey project. The project is worth Rupees 93 crores and is expected to be completed in 208 weeks (04 years).
The foundation stone laying ceremony is an important event in the evolution of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) district headquarters at Kochi as it is in line with the expansion plans of ICG which is in the process of augmenting its onshore and offshore capabilities to enhance the operational capabilities of ICG in peninsular India including Lakshadweep islands.
The DGCG who was on a visit to Kerala to review the operations and infrastructure development in the southernmost state of the country arrived Kochi on 08 Jan and departed on 10 Jan 17
