Gardner Aerospace Strengthens Partnership with Airbus UK in Over $141 m Contract Deals
Derby. Gardner Aerospace, a leading international manufacturer of aerospace components, is reinforcing its position as one of Airbus’ best-performing suppliers with a host of new contract wins and existing work package contract extensions from Airbus UK, representing a combined value of more than $141.64 million.
Gardner Aerospace supplies wing components and sub-assemblies for a number of Airbus’ civil and military aircraft. Airbus UK has extended its contracts with Gardner for the A320, A330 and A380 for the next five years, as well as extending an A400M contract to a life-of programme duration. New work packages on the A320 and A400M have also been contracted for wing components and sub-assemblies for these aircraft.
Nick Guttridge, Gardner’s Vice President of Business Development, says: “We are delighted to be working with Airbus from so many of our sites around the world. With many of the work packages progressing from short to long-term contracts, we are able to move appropriate production to Gardner’s best-cost manufacturing sites overseas, including those in Poland and India.
“The extended and expanded A400M contract will remain Derby-led, but we will begin manufacturing some of the parts in Poland. A number of parts for the A320, A330 and A380 aircraft will be manufactured across our UK sites in Derby, Basildon, Hull and Broughton, utilising the industry-leading fabrication, machining and assembly processes at each, as well as in our best cost sites in both Poland and India.
“Supporting the wing programmes for these aircraft is a golden opportunity to continue developing our partnership with Airbus and further demonstrates our capability to deliver exactly what the customer needs – on time.”
