Inauguration of Gallantry Walkway at Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade Ground, Bangalore

Bengaluru, June 27. Bangalore Military Station on June 27, marks another significant transformation with the inauguration of the Gallantry Walkway, by Major General Ravi Murugan, PVSM, AVSM, GOC Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area. This development, adjacent to the Grand Gate of Manekshaw Parade Ground on Cubbon Road, follows the recent inauguration of the Grand Gate itself, enhancing the military heritage and identity of this historic location.

The Gallantry Walkway showcases seven busts of top gallantry awardees from Karnataka, including recipients of the Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, and Mahavir Chakra. The primary objective of this endeavour is to honour the resolute spirit, sacrifice, and unwavering service of armed forces personnel from Karnataka while instilling awareness and pride among the younger generation. Moreover, this initiative by Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area further reinforces the Parade Ground as a poignant reminder of the sacrifice and unwavering commitment demonstrated by the Indian Army towards the security of the Nation.
