Lockheed Martin and Saudi Federation for Robotics and RC Sports Team up to Support National RC Aircraft Championship

Synergy aligns with company’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and upskilling Saudi nationals in advanced technology

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia. Lockheed Martin announced on October 1 that it is joining forces with the Saudi Federation for Robotics and RC Sports to sponsor the National RC Aircraft Championship. The collaboration reflectsLockheed Martin’s continuing commitment to fostering advanced technology-led innovation and contributing to the development of human capital in Saudi Arabia, in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.

The National RC Aircraft Championship, scheduled to take place in November in Riyadh, will bring together some of the most talented remote-controlled aviation enthusiasts. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills, creativity, and technical prowess in a series of challenging events designed to test their abilities. Among the primary objectives of the Saudi Federation for Robotics and RC Sports in conceptualizing the event is to position Saudi Arabia as a regional and global hotspot in the fields of robotics and wireless sports by fostering opportunities that empower young Saudis and contribute to the Kingdom’s future economic opportunities.

Lockheed Martin has a long-standing history of contributing to the growth of human capital in Saudi Arabia. Through various initiatives, the company has provided mentorship and educational opportunities to young Saudis, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in STEM(science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)fields. The company has supported students from universities such as the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), King Saud University (KSU), Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) through internship programs at its offices in Saudi Arabia.
