“MEG Honours its Veterans & Veer Naris: BRCC & Re-union 2024”
Bengaluru, November 22. Third day of the Biennial Regimental Commanders Conference (BRCC) & Re-union, was dedicated to fostering bonds with the MEG veterans who have contributed and sacrificed to make the ‘Madras Sappers’ achieve its glory and to honour ‘Veer Naris’; wives of martyrs whose lives are a living testimony of paramount sacrifice to the Nation.
After inauguration of the Engineer-in-Chief’s Gallery at Madras Sappers Museum & Archives, the War Memorial Service, wherein senior veterans paid tribute to the martyrs, was conducted followed by felicitation of Veer Naris.
An update to the Veterans on how the ‘Madras Sappers’ has progressed in the last few years followed, during which initiatives to resolve issues of veterans were highlighted and their suggestions were taken. Thereafter, the serving and retired personnel mingled with each other during a ‘Barakhana’, rekindling old memories and reinforcing the deep bonds between the officers & men, which form the bedrock from where the ‘Madras Sappers’ derive their strength and motivation.
