Military Nursing Service (MNS) Celebrates 99th Raising Day

Bengaluru, October 2. The officers of Military Nursing Service (MNS) at Command Hospital Air Force (CHAF) Bengaluru celebrated the 99th Raising Day on October 1, 2024. The Chief Guest for the event was Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) Training Command, IAF. Distinguished veterans of MNS and officers from tri-services graced the occasion. The Chief Guest congratulated the MNS officers on the momentous occasion and commended them for providing consistent care with compassion, competence and unwavering dedication.

On this occasion, a Wreath Laying Ceremony was held at the National War Memorial, Bangalore. Brig R Vijayarani, Principal Matron, CHAF Bangalore along with Maj Gen Elizabeth John (Retd), Former Addl Director Military Nursing Service, MNS officers and veterans attended the ceremony to pay homage to the gallant warriors who have given the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.

The Military Nursing Service was established in 1926, continues to be a vital part of the Armed Forces, evolving with the times to meet the modern day challenges while upholding its legacy of excellence. This year marks the commencement of the 100th year of Military Nursing Service and this significant milestone will be commemorated in a dignified manner.
