NCC Directorate Karnataka & Goa Wins the Prestigious Prime Minister’s Banner at Republic Day Camp 2025
Bengaluru, January 30. The Prime Minister’s Rally marked the culmination of Republic Day Camp 2025 (RDC-2025), the apex camp of National Cadet Corps, conducted at Field Marshal Cariappa parade ground in New Delhi on January 27, 2025. It was a proud moment for Karnataka& Goa, with the Directorate contingent being awarded the prestigious Prime Minister Banner 2025 and Trophy by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister’s banner was received by the Deputy Director General of NCC Directorate Karnataka & Goa, Air Commodore SB Arunkumar VSM during the PM’s Rally.
During RDC 2025, the exuberant cadets of the NCC Directorate excelled in drill, firing and cultural competitions to surge past 16 other Directorates. The Prime Minister’s Banner and Trophy is awarded for consistently performing well in a plethora of NCC activities over the year. The performance of the Directorate in Centrally Organised Camps & Competitions are also considered and marks are also awarded for maintaining high standards of discipline, performing well in NCC certificate exams and on the basis of the number of cadets selected for entry into the armed forces. The state has been a consistent performer in all aspects of NCC as evident by the number of events won by the Directorate during the current training year. NCC Directorate Karnataka & Goa stood first in Inter Directorate Shooting Championship, All India Vayu Sainik Camp, All India Thal Sainik Camp (Boys & Girls combined), and Yachting Regatta& RDC 2025, and showcasing high standards of training, professionalism& consistency.
During RDC – 2025 at Delhi, Cadet Sgt Shreyas Sudip Mitra of 1 Karnataka Air Sqn NCC won the coveted PM’s Baton for Best Senior Division Air Wing Cadet while four other cadets ended up with individual ‘Runners up’ medals in the Best Cadet competition. The Directorate Contingent was the overall best performing Directorate in RDC – 2025. Air Commodore SB Arunkumar stated that, being crowned the Champion Directorate this year is a reflection of the professionalism and ‘never say die’ attitude and hard work of entire team including Cadets and all Staff. He also acknowledged the excellent support from the State Govt authorities as well as the backing from various universities & institutions of the State which contributed to this success.
