Observance of World Environment Day by Equipment Depot, Air Force Station Bengaluru
Bengaluru. The World Environment Day was observed at Equipment Depot, Air Force Station Bengaluru on June 5. A tree plantation drive was conducted at the Depot led by Air Commodore Manoj Kumar, Air Officer Commanding, Equipment Depot, Air Force Station Bengaluru. The Air Officer Commanding as well as personnel of the Depot planted more than 100 saplings at the Depot Campus and Gagan Vihar.
The drive was also extended to Kempapura, the adopted village of the Depot, where the villagers participated enthusiastically in this noble cause. AOC, during his interaction with personnel of the Depot explained the adverse impact of depleting green cover and sighted the recent example of unprecedented hot weather in Bengaluru region. He advised Depot personnel to plant more trees in their gardens.
An interactive session was conducted for ladies and children of the Depot to educate them about Environment Conservation. Various aspects of environment conservation were discussed extensively. The celebration of World Environment Day culminated with Environment Conservation pledge by all the Depot personnel.
