India-France form new ties in civil aviation

New Delhi. The Minister for Civil Aviation, Vayalar Ravi had an interaction with Thierry Mariani, French Minister of State for Transport, Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing on issues related to Indo French civil aviation cooperation.

Both sides agreed to move forward on the memorandum of understanding signed between the Director General of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India and their French counterpart on aviation cooperation and hold the first steering committee meeting soon to lay down the agenda.

At present, Air India is operating 4 frequencies per week on the Delhi Paris sector and Air France 21 services per week from Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Both sides discussed possible investments of French companies in Greenfield airports as also further cooperation in the helicopter field and technical equipment for airports.
