Hyderabad. Bell Helicopter delivered its 100th rotorcraft in India
during the India Aviation 2008. Mr Richard Millman, President &
CEO, Bell Helicopter, handed over the keys of the aircraft, a Bell 412, to Abir
Infrastructure Private Limited (AIPL) in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister
Praful Patel. While welcoming the US companys success in delivering
the 100th helicopter in India, Mr Patel said that the growth of civil aviation
in India was on the rise and that we will soon be ranked third or fourth
in the world. We are also committed to make aviation safer and
cleaner with the co-operation of other countries like the US, the minister
said. Abir Managing Director K Gnyandeep said, ABIR is experiencing
rapid growth with an established name in multiple businesses lines in India. This
Bell 412EP will increase our capability to continue to grow and reach better business
economies. A bell statement said: The twinengine 412 holds 15 people
and is ideally suited for charter services. Since it is a larger helicopter, it
can carry a substantially larger load and also has a greater range. It is built
to withstand all weather conditions, from searing desert heat to the polar ice
cap cold. The worlds most rugged and reliable medium twin-engine helicopter
it is a daily workhorse yet refined in temperament and control. It is the most
popular in the medium size helicopter segment. The 412 can operate in conditions
that would cripple most other aircraft. The 412 has wide opening doors to
accommodate a forklift with two ton lifting capabilities. It has the highest dispatch
reliability of any twin engine aircraft. It is built on the ideal combination
of rugged fuselage construction and the proven Pratt & Whitney PT6T-3D Twin
Pac engine. It has the lowest seat mile cost in its class and has rupture
resistant fuel cells, energy absorbing crew seats and collective mounted throttles
as standard equipment. The 412 has flexibility for future growth, with a dual
digital automatic flight control system that allows for easy integration of automatic
approach to hover and automatic hover capabilities. Jon Rudy, Bells
