IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano appointed for second term in office

Vienna. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has appointed Director General Yukiya Amano to a second four-year term of office, commencing 1 December 2013.

IAEA's 57th General Conference approved the appointment by acclamation Sep 16, initially proposed by the IAEA's Board of Governors on 6 March.

The Director General expressed his thanks for the Member States' support and for the trust they have extended to him. He said he was deeply honoured by the Member States' decision to renew his mandate for another term.
