Today, India remains a key to Honeywell’s global
growth strategy, with all four of its strategic
business groups present in India generating more
than $1 billion in India Revenues and exports.
The organisation has grown from 1,000 people in
2002 to more than 13,000 in over 50 locations
across India.
Honeywell’s commitment to India, and specifically
to its aviation and defence industry, is demonstrated
by the fact that every day, aircraft with Honeywell’s
high performance technologies fly across the skies
of India. From commercial airliners, business
jets, and general aviation aircraft to military
transports, fighters and helicopters, Honeywell
products, systems and services continue to fulfill
its commitment to realising the Possibilities
of Flight.
Most recently, Honeywell ’s SmartPath® – the
world’s first FAAcertified Ground-Based Augmentation
System (GBAS) – was selected by the Airports Authority
of India (AAI) for Chennai International Airport,
India’s third busiest airport. Once implemented,
Chennai would become Southeast Asia’s first airport
with a satellite-based aircraft approach and landing
system, reducing delays and journey times for
passengers, lowering fuel cost for airlines, and
increasing traffic throughput at the airport.
Honeywell’s contributions to Indian engineering
and technology development capabilities continue
to increase as we support the growing demands
of India’s aviation and defence industries. Honeywell
technologists across India develop innovative
solutions for its aviation and defence customers
worldwide.
Honeywell products reach beyond everyday travellers.
India’s borders are secured by fighters containing
its high-technology products. Today, Honeywell
engine technology is ready to support the Indian
Air Force (IAF), with the F125IN engine offered
for the Jaguar fighter.
Observed a top Honeywell executive, “We remain
committed to continuing to advance India’s indigenous
technology, from development through production.
More than 40 years ago, we began a partnership
with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to manufacture
and support high-technology products in India.
We continue to build on this partnership with
additional products and capabilities in HAL and
other Indian companies.”
