Indonesian Naval Ship KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda Visits Kochi

Kochi. Indonesian Naval ship KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda (367), a Multi-Role Light frigate (Pennant No.367), has been visiting Kochi from October 24 to 26. During the visit, various interactions with Southern Naval Command have been planned.

On October 24, the Commanding Officer of KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda Commander Gung Putu Alit Jaya accompanied by Col (N) Arif Harnanto, resident Defence Attache (DA) in New Delhi called on Rear Admiral RB Pandit, the Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command .

Other interaction includes sporting fixtures between the two navies as well as exchange of visits by specialist officers and men from both the countries with Indian Navy personnel visiting the Indonesian Naval ships and Indonesian personnel visiting the training facilities at Southern Naval Command.

KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda is a Diponegoro Class ship, and was commissioned on October 18, 2008. The ship is enroute to Belawan (Indonesia) and is planned to depart from Kochi October 26 morning.
