Tigerair touches down in Lucknow ‘the Land of Nawabs’

New Delhi. Tigerair, the leading Singapore-based budget carrier has expanded its operations with direct flights from Singapore to Lucknow, a company press statement said December 4.

The launch of the new service to Lucknow, the land of rich heritage and culture, becomes the airline’s sixth destination in India. Tigerair will operate tri-weekly flights to the city.

Tigerair’s inaugural flight from Singapore-TR 2676 landed at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 2000 hours (8 pm) local time on December 3. On landing, the airline was welcomed with magnificent water canon salute. The airport ceremony was hosted by Tigerair’s Sales and Marketing Director Mr Teh Yik Chuan.

The first Tigerair flight to Lucknow was welcomed by Suresh Chandra Hota, Airport Director, Lucknow in the presence of Mr Lim Thuan Kuan, Singapore High Commissioner to India which was followed by an exchange of gifts between the officials of both sides.

To celebrate the new route launch and continuing its legacy, Tigerair offers Lucknow passengers a special return fare of INR 10,999*, available for purchase from December 4-13 for travel between January 12-April 14 next year. Passengers can book the tickets on www.tigerair.com or from their nearest travel agent. Special fares have also been announced for the other Indian routes.

Since Tigerair started its service to Chennai in 2007, the carrier’s first point in India, there has been a strong appetite for enhanced connectivity. Tigerair already flies to five Indian cities in South - Chennai, Bangalore, Trichy, Hyderabad and Kochi. The addition of the Lucknow route will mark Tigerair’s foray into North India and the only airline in Lucknow to operate direct flights to Singapore.

Tigerair now operates a total of 44 weekly flights to Singapore from six Indian destinations. The airline also connects to Bali, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Perth, Taipei via Singapore, the gateway to amazing destinations in Asia Pacific and Connect to Sydney, Gold Coast and 11 more destinations with 50 weekly flights via Singapore in collaboration with Scoot.
