As a
trusted partner of the Indian armed forces including the Indian Navy, Thales has
been actively supporting their modernisation and indigenisation efforts. Some
of the contracts in the naval segment include long-range surveillance radars (LW08
and DA04), electronic warfare systems, among others. Thales aims to strengthen
its industrial footprint in India. This strategy is in line with the Indian government’s
policy of Make in India and of modernising the defence base of the country. Its
association of over 50 years with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and joint ventures
with Bharat Electronics Limited, Samtel and L&T Technology Services reinforce
the company’s commitment to the country. Complementing the ‘Make in India’
initiative, Thales has its own ‘Go to India’ initiative through which it has been
co- operating with the Indian private sector, particularly large corporate players
and SMEs to build transfer of technology and supply chain partnerships. It plans
to further ramp up its supply chain in India and build a sustainable ecosystem
of partners here. With vast experience and trust, Thales looks forward
to continue to support and complement the long term plans of the Indian Navy.
