One of Moscow’s landmarks, the Ostankino TV tower, was lit up in the colours of the flags of India and Russia on Monday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi began a two-day high-profile visit to the Russian capital to hold summit talks with President Vladimir Putin.
Rising to 1,771 feet (540m), the Ostankino TV Tower is the world’s 4th tallest and Europe’s highest of its kind. The tower was erected in 1967 by the well-known Soviet engineer, Nikolai Nikitin.
As the highest free-standing building in Russia, it is a renowned symbol of Russian broadcasting, as well as a famous landmark and a must-visit destination in Moscow.

Talks will also be held on the Rupee-Rouble trade, economic topics will also be touched…Geopolitics topics will definitely be touched on…The entire world is watching this. I think the results can touch the situation of the entire world.”

India’s Ambassador to Austria, Shambhu S. Kumaran, on PM Modi’s upcoming visit, stated, “Prime Minister will engage in substantive discussions with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer. He will also meet President Alexander Van der Bellen and interact with Austrian CEOs and an Indian business delegation.”
He further noted, “PM Modi will address the Indian community, who eagerly await his visit. There is great excitement among them, as they have been anticipating this visit for some time. This will be a significant highlight of the trip.”
