Rosoboronexport Offers Partners Assistance in Creating and Equipping Airborne Troops
Moscow, April 10. Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) offers foreign customers its services for organizing and fully equipping airborne troops units as part of the national armed forces.
The company is ready to provide assistance in organizing parachute units, creating the necessary ground infrastructure, equipping all types of military equipment and weapons, and training military personnel. The result of the work carried out by Rosoboronexport will be the appearance of a fully combat-ready type of troops in the armed forces of the foreign customer.
“The experience of modern military, anti-terrorist and peacekeeping operations shows that units of the airborne troops are the most prepared tactical formations for quickly achieving goals behind enemy lines and at the front line. They successfully carry out raids to defeat the enemy, seize and hold territories and important facilities,” said Rosoboronexport General Director Alexander Mikheev. “Today Rosoboronexport offers friendly countries the implementation of projects to create, equip and train parachute units, taking into account the rich traditions and combat experience of the Russian airborne troops, the company sees great potential for its proposal in Asia. -Pacific region, Middle East and Africa.”
Rosoboronexport, as part of the creation of parachute units of its partner armies, proposes to equip them with all the necessary modern military equipment to carry out combat missions. In recent years, enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex have created new models of military equipment, and also seriously modernized weapons tested in real conditions, equipping them taking into account current and promising concepts of combat operations.
The BMD-4M airborne combat vehicle from Rostec’s “High-Precision Complexes” is an air-transportable, tracked amphibious combat vehicle. It is armed with 100 mm and 30 mm cannons and a 7.62 mm machine gun. The BMD-4M has a crew of 3 people; in addition, the vehicle can accommodate 7 more equipped paratroopers. The landing platform is equipped with a hydropneumatic suspension, which allows you to change the ground clearance from 100 to 500 mm, which reduces the profile of the vehicle when used in defense.
The 125 mm self-propelled anti-tank gun 2S25 modernized (light amphibious tank “Sprut”) produced by “High-Precision Complexes” is the only light amphibious combat vehicle in its class, possessing firepower at the level of the T-90MS tank and unified with Russian main battle tanks in terms of the ammunition used. It is equipped with a powerful weapon system, including a 125 mm cannon with a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun and a 7.62 mm remote machine gun mount. The vehicle is equipped with a guided missile weapon system designed to destroy armored targets, including those equipped with dynamic protection, at ranges of up to 5 km.
The BTR-MDM armored personnel carrier produced by High-Precision Complexes is designed to transport personnel (troopers) up to 13 people, ammunition, spare parts, fuel and lubricants as part of airborne units in all combat conditions. Command and staff vehicles, mobile communication units, medical vehicles, and technical support vehicles can also be equipped on the basis of the BTR-MDM.
Also, to ensure the conduct of combat operations by parachute units, transportation of personnel and cargo, a protected vehicle of the Typhoon-K family of Remdizel (part of Rostec), which is armed with a 30 mm remote-controlled combat module, is designed.
The MTR technical reconnaissance vehicle from Remdizel is designed to transport a crew of 5 people and special equipment. It is equipped with surveillance and technical reconnaissance devices.
Depending on the assigned tasks, a paratroop unit may be armed with a 120 mm 2S42 Lotos self-propelled gun, a 2S41 Drok self-propelled mortar and a Kornet-EM complex. The 83t501 “Zavet-D” system based on the BTR-MDM is designed for automated artillery control.
All military equipment of the airborne troops can be landed at a specified point by landing or parachute.
The landing of personnel, military equipment and cargo to the place of combat mission is carried out using parachute systems developed and produced by enterprises belonging to the Rostec State Corporation.
Rosoboronexport offers foreign partners a wide range of parachute systems for landing personnel in solving various problems. Among them are the special-purpose systems “Dalnolet”, “Tandem-400”, “Arbalet-2”, “Berkut-2” and “Stayer-2”, as well as systems for mass landing D-6 and D-10.
The special-purpose system “Dalnolet” allows you to jump from a height of 8 thousand m, including as part of a group, at distances of up to 60 km from the aircraft. In this case, the paratrooper can carry enough weapons, ammunition and special equipment, since the total flight weight is 190 kg. With the two-seat special-purpose parachute system “Tandem-400”, it is possible to parachute with a passenger or place a container weighing up to 50 kg on the harness (total flight weight is 225 kg).
To equip landing personnel with a payload, Russia has developed various cargo securing systems and cargo containers that meet modern ergonomic requirements, as well as protective helmets, night vision devices and oxygen equipment to ensure the breathing of paratroopers when landing at altitudes from 4000 to 8000 m.
Landing of combat troops vehicles of airborne troops weighing up to 20 tons are carried out using the MKS-350-12/12M cargo multi-dome parachute system and the PBS strapdown parachute system.
For the landing of weapons, ammunition, military and humanitarian cargo, Rosoboronexport proposes to use modern Russian-made parachute cargo systems.
In addition, Rostec has proactively developed the automated parachute system APSDG-250. It allows you to drop cargo up to 250 kg from high altitudes up to 8 thousand meters with landing accuracy at a given point up to 100 meters.
To ensure high mobility of parachute units, Rosoboronexport offers the latest military transport aircraft developed and produced by Rostec UAC Il-76MD-90A(E), which has more than 70% of its systems and components updated compared to the Il-76.
Il-76MD-90A(E) can transport and drop weapons and military equipment of airborne troops using parachute systems. It can accommodate up to 3 units of BMD-4M, up to 3 units of BTR-MDM and up to 2 units of 125 mm modernized 2S25 self-propelled anti-tank guns (light amphibious tank “Sprut”). The aircraft provides landing of up to 126 parachutists with full equipment. The flight range with a load of 60 tons is 4 thousand km; with a load of 52 tons, the range increases to 5 thousand km.
The aircraft can be equipped with the President-S airborne defense system, which automatically protects the Il-76MD-90A(E) from guided missiles over the entire range of ranges and angles of their combat use.
One of the important advantages of the IL-76MD-90A(E) over its competitors is its ability to take off and land on unprepared and unpaved airfields.
Effective training of airborne troops personnel is carried out using modern technical means. Rosoboronexport is ready to provide partners who want to have trained and coordinated parachute units with dynamic simulators for military equipment crews, fire training simulators, driving simulators, as well as classes for technical training of the crew. Initial training of paratroopers with landing practice in various conditions is carried out at the UTK-VDP airborne training complex.
As part of personnel training, experienced instructors from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will teach future paratroopers the basics of airborne tactics, actions in combat situations, the specifics of operating equipment and weapons, taking into account the realities of modern military conflicts, including the use of unmanned reconnaissance and destruction systems.
