SDI Hands Over Super Dimona Simulator to NDA

Bengaluru, September 3. Software Development Institute (SDI) of IAF located in Bengaluru was tasked  to design, develop, integrate and deploy Super Dimona aircraft simulator for NDA. The  requirement was projected by Air Force Training Team (AFTT) established at NDA  and mandated to undertake flying training for cadets. The need was to familiarise the  cadets with basic flying aspects so as to equip them with necessary knowledge of  flying environment.  The simulation software including flight dynamics was developed by software engineers of Air Force involving state of the art 135 degree FOV immersive  display to enhance the visual experience of the cadet flying. Towards Aatmanirbharatha, local industries were involved in mechanical modification, fabrication of  flight controls, display screens and other panels as available in actual aircraft.

Speaking on the occasion, Commandant SDI mentioned that this simulator will help to enhance the quality of training imparted to the cadets  and guide them towards smooth transition for flying training.
