SPARSH “Outreach Programme for Defence Pensioners”

Bengaluru, November 27. The inaugural session of the SPARSH Outreach Programme being conducted by PCDA, Bengaluru was held on 26th November, 2024 in collaboration with ASC Centre (South) at Chopra Auditorium, ASC Centre (South), Bengaluru.

The programme is being conducted for grievance redressal of Defence Pensioners and Defence Civilian Pensioners for a period of three days from 26th to 28th November, 2024. In addition, Digital Life Certificate is being issued to the pensioners under DLC 3.0 Campaign at this event.

Mr. R.K. Arora, IDAS, Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Mr. Arora enumerated the features of SPARSH initiative taken by Defence Accounts Department and hoped that the grievances of the pensioners will be cleared by the Grievance Redressal Benches set up at the event. He said that so far SPARSH Outreach programmes have been conducted at 44 stations across the country.

The Guest of Honour at the event, Major General S.S. Ahlawat, DCCI, ASC Centre & College, Bengaluru said that this outreach programme is a critical initiative aimed at connecting with the veterans directly.

He encouraged all pensioners to explain their problems in details to the officers of DAD at the Grievance Redressal benches to get proper solution. He said that the initiative taken to digitalise the system and make it accessible from anywhere has removed all intermediaries which existed earlier.

Mr. T. Rambabu, IDAS, Controller, PCDA, Bengaluru highlighted the commitment of PCDA, Bengaluru to serve the pensioners as over 100 officers and staff have been deployed for this event. He informed that SPARSH Service Centres have been opened in various stations in Karnataka for helping the pensioners and issue of Digital Life Certificate. After the inaugural session, the Chief Guest interacted with the pensioners and the officers at the benches.
