The MARATHA LIRC Celebrates The World Environmental Day
Bengaluru, June 5. On occasion of World Environmental Day, all ranks, families and APS students of the MARATHA LIRC undertook an extensive cleanliness and plantation drive at Belagavi Mil Stn resounding a call for cleanliness and environment protection.
The Regimental Centre, in collaboration with the forest department, spearheaded a tree plantation initiative, embedding over 2000 trees. This concerted effort not only enriches the environment but also fosters a profound awareness of tree preservation within the community.
Also, as part of the drive and to instill cleanliness discipline, the troops carried out a cleanliness drive in and around the Regimental Centre and dedicated their morning towards sprucing up the surroundings.
The families of the Regimental Centre also took forward the cleanliness drive at the Living Areas thus contributing towards the well-being of troops and instilling core values of environmental cleanliness.
The opportunity was also exploited to instill these values in the younger generation where in an environmental drive and awareness campaign was undertaken through cycle rally by students of APS, The MARATHA LIRC, Belagavi School.
The Indian Army continues its dedication towards the Environmental Preservation and its holistic approach to Nation-Building . By instilling sense of clean and green station within its own ranks and extending its efforts to the broader community, the Indian Army sets a powerful example for all citizens thus becoming a source of inspiration and a testament to their role in shaping a better future for the Nation.
