Indian Army Hosts Veterans Outreach in Madikeri, Resolves 376 grievances related to SPARSH and pensionary entitlement

Bengaluru, March 24. Under the aegis of HQ Southern Command, Veterans Outreach was conducted at Madikeri (Kodagu) on 24 Mar 2025 for Veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents from Madikeri and Virajpet (Kodagu). The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, GOC-in-C, Southern Command, Lt Gen Karanbir Singh Brar, PVSM, AVSM, GOC, Dakshin Bharat Area and  Major General  VT Mathew, AVSM, YSM, GOC, K&K Sub Area.  Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, GOC-in-C, Southern Command addressed and interacted with the pensioners. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the proud Veterans, Veer Naris and their families and acknowledged their sacrifices and service to the Nation.   He assured them of the commitment of the Indian Army to look after its veterans and their families.

565 Veterans and Veer Naris attended the Veterans Outreach.  Officials from seven different Record Offices of Southern Command and PCDA, Bengaluru resolved 376 grievances related to SPARSH & Pensionary Entitlements on spot. Medical and Dental Team provided the medical aid and treatment to 72 patients. In addition Cancer Screening Camp was also conducted, which screened 19 patients. The officials from ZRO, Bengaluru, Zilla Sainik Welfare & Resettlement Office, Madikeri and Army Welfare Placement Organisation briefed the Veterans about various welfare schemes, re-employment and recruitment process.  The event was well received by the Veterans fraternity.
